Description

3d printable fusebox extender for the Prius 4th gen, giving extra space for fuse taps (e.g. dashcam hardwire kit) and opening for wire escapes while using the factory fuse cover that is otherwise snug against the factory fuses. Design goals were to provide a basic cover / splash guard while keeping the factory lid (with its useful references) part of the car. Wires openings exit away from the driver (and towards the car wall - if you're getting splash from that direction, you have bigger problems). Designed for and tested on a Prius Prime 2021 and generic low-profile mini fuse taps, potentially may work across other Toyota vehicles. The live tab has bridges connecting with the rest of the structure, this improves bed adhesion for what would be otherwise small islands. You can cut these with a knife in a post-processing step. No supports are needed for printing. FreeCAD .FCStd source is included. It is a spreadsheet-parametric design, so you can adjust dimensions and the rest of the model will update consistently. Prints done on PETG 0.2mm layers using default settings on a Prusa Mini. A wide brim helps part adhesion, especially as the opening legs have limited surface area. My prints were done using a 4mm brim with 2-loop skirt (3mm offset) that intersects and connects the brim pieces. PLA may result in brittle live tab.
