Frequently Asked Questions
Who designs the custom parts?
All custom parts are designed by our CSWP-certified (Certified SOLIDWORKS Professional) design team with extensive experience in automotive applications and 3D printing optimization.
What if my part doesn't fit after printing?
We offer free revisions for fitment issues. Simply contact us with photos showing the problem, and we'll adjust the design and send updated files.
Can I get the source CAD files?
By default, you receive print-ready STL files. STEP/IGES source files are available for an additional fee if you need to make modifications.
How do I know which complexity tier my part falls into?
Our team will confirm the appropriate tier after reviewing your request. If we determine it's a different complexity level, we'll notify you before proceeding.
Can I request parts for commercial use?
Yes, but please mention this in your request. Commercial licensing terms differ from personal use and will be discussed during the quote process.
Troubleshooting
Haven't received a response in 48 hours
Check your spam folder first. If nothing there, reply to your confirmation email or contact support@3dcarparts.org directly.
Not sure how to describe my part
Focus on what the part does rather than technical specifications. Photos are extremely helpful - even rough phone photos provide valuable context.
Part is too complex or expensive
Let us know your budget constraints. We can often simplify designs or suggest alternative approaches that reduce complexity and cost.
