- Double-check year/make/model accuracy for proper fitment matching
Frequently Asked Questions
What file formats work with the 3D viewer?
STL, PLY, and OBJ files display in the interactive 3D viewer with measurement tools. STEP/STP/3MF files can be downloaded but don't yet support in-browser preview.
Do I retain ownership of my uploads?
Yes! You retain full ownership. By uploading, you grant 3DCarParts a license to display, distribute, and fulfill print-on-demand orders. Other users receive your content under CC BY-NC 4.0 (non-commercial use only). See the full Upload Agreement for details.
How long does review take?
Most parts are reviewed within 48 hours. You'll receive an email notification when your part is approved and live in the library.
Can I edit my upload after submitting?
Yes, you can edit your own parts from your profile page. You can update descriptions, add files, or replace existing ones.
What happens if my upload is rejected?
We'll email you with the reason. Common issues include missing files, incomplete descriptions, or safety concerns. You can fix the issues and resubmit.
Troubleshooting
Upload fails or times out
Check file size limits (30MB for models, 10MB for images). Try a different browser or clear cache. Large files may need a stable connection.
File format not accepted
Verify the file extension matches supported formats. Some CAD files need export to STL/OBJ. Ensure the file isn't corrupted.
3D model doesn't display correctly
Check that the model is properly scaled (usually millimeters). Ensure it's a closed/manifold mesh. Try re-exporting from your CAD software.
