Dash Hole Caps
1979-1983 Datsun 280zx
Description
* edit:this is an entirely new design, made to be printed as is (on it`s side ish) without support (I included print in place supports that don't have to be broken off (maybe the top, thin ones). I suggest PETG or ABS so it doesn`t melt in the sun. once cleaned, this new design snaps in place with a satisfying click and should stay there. Hi! these are models for the holes on the dash of a 1979-1983 Datsun 280zx, next to the defrost vents, where the screws that hold the dash are. They are a direct, measure by measure reproduction of the real ones. They fit right in, I've tried them. I don't know how I'd get them out, the clips would probably break when you`d pry them, but then, you can print more! I've printed them face down, and they print good, even the little clips' overhang. The only issue is that there is a step on the top part, where the middle is higher than the surroundings; that prints badly because it's trying to print a 3mm horizontal overhang. It looks weird when you look at it from close by, but from a foot or two away it just looks like texture in the plastic which in the end is pretty ok! Maybe if it's be printed right side up, but then, you'd need a ton of supports for everything, since it's just like a table with 2 legs that touch, and two that don't even touch the floor (the little cones that locate the cap in the hole). ***Quick note, mine are in black PLA, and have warped afew a week or two in the sun... it's not bad, it just makes them loose. no problem taking them out anymore, but they have a slight curve to them now. might want to to print out of ABS or Petg
Print Instructions
Standard FDM printing settings: - Layer height: 0.2mm - Infill: 70% - Supports: As needed
