Center Vent Replacement
1997-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Description
I thickened the area where the movable vanes pin into the body of the vent so that they stay in. I also reworked the actual vent control lever to a simpler design that actually works. Lastly, my Jeep didn't have the original vents and apparently there is a clip missing. The original design only has the pin on one side and seems to rely on a clip on the other end of the vent which is missing at least on my Jeep. So, I added a peg to have it snap in and work like the original vent would have. These work fine and look ok aside from matching the color of my interior. My jeep has really hot heat and I had some sagging with PETG so I reprinted them in Polycarbonate. The original linkage isn't flexible enough to clip on the vanes without breaking if you print it with PC - so I thickened that part. NOTE: This design fits both the left and right center vents...the direction you install the vanes in the body of the vent is important so that the handle faces down and provides a limit to how far the vent can be moved side to side.
