Description

A button to replace a blank in the dash of a Porsche 996 or 986. It has an opening to mount a USB cable. I have not tried to connect a cable as I don't have one on hand and made this model on request. I can say that the button will fit as I have used a similar one I made for use with a barrel connector. The openings for the USB cable use dimensions that I'm using on other projects. The only question is if there is enough room to fit the cable from the back. You may have to trim the USB connector with an X-acto knife to fit it. There isn't room to make hollow out the back of the button without compromising the shape.

Use supports. I made this model on request and have not tried it myself. The part will fit the dash, and the holes are the right size for a panel-mount USB, but you may have to trim the USB cable to fit. I can't make the hollowed out area bigger without messing up the fitment of the button blank.
