Headlight Projector Bracket
2001-2005 Audi A4 B6
Description
A common issue with the projectors in OEM Valeo Bixenon housings fitted to B6 A4's is that the reflector bowl can become scorched which results in diminished light output. Instead of replacing the whole headlight housing, only to have the issue reoccur, one can use this bracket to replace the projector itself with Koito Q5-r Replica projectors or similar [D1S bixenon projectors](https://www.theretrofitsource.com/bi-xenon-acme-standard-d1s-d3s-51789.html). This also allows you to retain the original ballast and bulb type (D1S) as well, to help keep cost down. This modification is outlined in this [Audizine thread](https://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/771939-B6-Bi-xenon-headlights-Valeo-Projector-Swap-DYI "Audizine") The credit for the original bracket goes to the OP of the thread who posted the DWG file. I simply modeled the mounting holes for the projector that were missing and created the STL so that it could be 3D printed. Avoid using PLA material for this bracket, as the inside of the headlight housing can get fairly hot and any warping of the part will cause issues with beam alignment. I decided to use a Carbon Fiber Nylon material for good stiffness and dimensional stability as well as heat resistance. Although other materials may perform okay, YMMV.
