Decklid Panel Repair Clips
2011-2014 Ford Mustang
Description
If you're here, you’ve probably broken one (or all) of those plastic clips that hold your decklid trim in place. Been there. So I designed these repair clips to bring your trim back into alignment without resorting to sketchy adhesives or junkyard scavenging. These clips are a drop-in repair solution for the 2011-4 Mustang. I modelled them based on the factory clip dimensions, but beefed them up in the right spots to make them more durable when reinstalled. ✅ Features: Modelled for accurate fitment Printed in PETG or ABS, PLA is not recommended as the decklid can get hotter than the sun. Zero trimming or modding required Print with tree supports and brim print-bed adhesion. 🖨️ Recommended Print Settings: Material: PETG or ABS (PLA might work, but is more brittle) Layer Height: 0.2mm, I used dynamic quality on my Creality V3 SE Infill: minimum 20% Orientation: Print sideways 🔧 Installation Tips: Ensure the cutouts on the decklid are free from any glue that is left over when the decklid backing plate and cover are assembled at the factory. Secure in place with heat-resistant tape or plastic-friendly epoxy. You may want to consider welding the clips to the mounting plate for added strength. When fitting the cover back on the trunk, I also added a perimeter of 3M automotive 1.8mm foam tape to keep everything in place. Theres also a support for the 2 screws on either lower corner, mine were splintered so I made these to either replace or slide over to prevent what's left from falling to pieces. Notes The "Fit check" file is useful for seeing how the clip fits in the aperture and avoids slipping inside the trunk lid void. The clip is not meant to fill the metal-work opening; the combined positioning gives the right level of tension.
Print Instructions
Standard FDM printing settings: - Layer height: 0.2mm - Infill: 70% - Supports: As needed
